I’ve been on a deep and intentional soul journey for the past few months. It’s taken me into the depths. I’ve held space for myself, with minimal distractions, to turn inward and do the work. To process and feel painful and uncomfortable emotions that have been buried and stored as weighted energy—some for years. To allow them to move through me, bringing them to the surface and honoring them for the lessons they brought. To flip the mirror I’ve held for many clients and friends inward, and not look away when it gets uncomfortable. To be honest with myself, with love, about reasons behind choices I’ve made and my purpose in this world.
This shadow work takes courage, strength, and commitment. It takes a will that is stronger than the temporary relief and comfort of avoidance. It takes grace and forgiveness.
As I write this, our world is being forced to turn inward and face its own shadow. Change at the core level is never a painless process. We are witnessing the destruction of ancient systems that don’t serve our conscious evolution and the crumbling of a paradigm that puts power and money above humanity.
This period of forced reflection is a gift that we can choose to meet ourselves in. A chance to examine what defines us in a society where we’re taught to numb, distract, avoid, and keep going—constantly seeking things outside of us to self-sooth, forgetting what really matters.
Where in our lives have we been avoiding or trying to fill the space? Where have we let fear or pride control our decisions instead of taking action from our hearts? Where do we have the opportunity to show more empathy, love, and compassion toward others and ourselves? Who are we at our core when we’re stripped of the lifestyle, image, routine, label, or status we were using to define our happiness?
The same structures that are breaking down in society are being called to break down in each of us. Can we drop into our hearts—letting the fear of the unknown and the grief for what once was rise up and move through. They just want to be seen and acknowledged. They are here to teach us and to guide us into a higher version of ourselves, and prepare us for what’s coming.
It’s a scary time, for sure. There is inevitably suffering and discomfort in this current space—the breakdown before the breakthrough. An energetic purge of what’s made us sick. But it’s our collective response that will define us.
From this vulnerable space comes opportunity for massive growth and expansion. A reawakening. It highlights what’s not aligning with us in our lives. The “normal” we’re so accustomed to was allowing us to settle down in unconscious patterns. As we watch these old patterns unravel we can choose to suffer and cling to them, or to rise into a new way of being. We have the choice to emerge from this changed. We can move forward into more harmony with our own hearts, one another and our planet.
We knew we needed change, and now it’s here. Our earth is breathing again. We’re pausing and being reminded that we are all one, giving gratitude for simple things like human connection and fresh air. Correcting significant unbalance can’t happen overnight, but we can serve as the catalysts by expanding our awareness and embodying the change we need. This is our purpose. What a time we have chosen to incarnate onto this earth. To be a part of this massive conscious revolution. It’s not a matter of if, but a matter of when, because love will always win. It will be so beautiful on the other side.
